Food close-up in Highland Resort Hotel & Spa

If you ignore the price - fantastic place to stay with a view of Mt Fuji from the room and breakfast restaurant (second option is Fuji Q view). Great breakfast options (Japanese + European style). Well equipped bathroom. Free access to Fujiyama Onsen (used almost every day) and Fuji Q park (access 30 min before opening). Many eating places around. Don Quijote across the street. Great place to relax and visit Mt Fuji (15 min walk to bus stop to Subaru 5th station for Yoshida trail). Kitaguchi Hongu Fuji Sengen Shrine 8 min with taxi or 40 min walk/bus (its 0 station for Yoshida trail to Mt Fuji).

View (from property/room) in Highland Resort Hotel & Spa

Amazing view of Mt Fuji from the front of the hotel, inside the theme park AND from the breakfast buffet. Bath house is clean and massage services are good value and amazing too. Beds are big amd comfortable. Also loved that there's Expressway buses from Tokyo which stops right outside the hotel. There's free and paid buses to take you into Kawaguchi Station, as well as taxis. Highly recommend the hotel and would come again.

Restaurant/places to eat in Highland Resort Hotel & Spa

We stayed on the Executive Floor. The rooms have been recently renovated. We had a nice view, and the beds and facilities were modern and comfortable. Very good free coffee and drinks. Also liked the nice touch of free choux cream and tea at a cafe in the amusement park nearby. Good bakery and Italian restaurant, though the service could be improved.

Wow! The hotel was beautiful and clean and the staff were lovely. Our room was Japanese style, very well designed and spacious for our family of 4 and easily had space for up to 6. The dining and sitting areas were separate to sleeping area so no need to put the beds away. The futon were comfortable and we had air conditioning. The bathroom was large and spacious with separate toilet, two sinks and separate bath and shower room. We had an amazing view of Mount Fuji. There was no noise. The breakfast was excellent with some of the best pastries I've had served with a wonderful view of Mount Fuji. We ate in the Japanese restaurant and the Italian. Both were excellent quality. The onsen was also lovely and relaxing. I wish we had time for a massage as they were very reasonably priced. One of the best things about staying here was the ability to purchase our theme park tickets, register Face ID and get into park 30 mins early. We got straight onto rides with no queue. The park was relatively quiet when we went and two coasters were out of action but I think this would be very useful at peak times when park is busier. It was wonderful to be able to walk to park to and from our room also.

Perfect resort with a view to Mt Fuji, no flaws, it’s amazing! We could perfectly see Fuji-san from our rooms, so close by! The onsen is amazing, the best I’ve been, with a wood smell and loads of different baths in a huge space, as well as a beautiful outdoor space! I wish the drinks machine in the onsen was free for hotel guests though :( even though the onsen was public, it wasn’t very full because the space is really big. The breakfast was impressive, amazing spread, totally worth including it! The room is very pretty and spacious, they give you a biscuit, and best of all, there’s a massage chair!!! The bathroom is equally beautiful, with a special shower: a massage shower with mist! Oh and there’s a theme park right next to the resort. This was truly a unique experience, I would stay here again 100%.

We went to Thomasland in Fuji Q so this location was great and walkable to the theme park in the morning before we head to other attractions. The breakfast cafeteria has the most beautiful view of mount Fuji and we got the traditional room so our family of four adults and one 3 year old toddler was able to stay in the same room, which was great and also has the most wonderful view of mt. fuji. My mom and aunt also enjoyed the complementary onsen.

The Onsen experience was great, and it was included in our room price. Many restaurant options with the Italian restaurant on the ground floor offering good priced meals and a great Mt Fuji view restaurant for breakfast. Best part was the free dessert that was included (which we had to pick it up from a nearby dessert shop) - It was the most delicious cream bun thing I've ever had.

The view of Mt Fuji was so stunning from our room window. Very comfortable room, nice and clean. Free shuttle bus to take you around town, but also the bus stop for Tokyo bound if you want to take the bus back to the city and If you have children the Q highland fun park next to the hotel which give you a day free entrance. One of staff there had tried very hard to help us book a bus back to Tokyo on one of the website which was confusing to all because languages barrier between us English speaking but he got us there at the end. Bless his heart!

I never seen a hotel flooring so clean. After 2 days wearing my bathroom slippers, I looked at the base and it was white, no dust, no hair (as if I had never worn before) 😱 We booked the Fuji view room and had a really good stay here. Slept like a baby throughout. Staff were all very very nice and friendly. Bonus was the Fujiyama onsen whereby we took 20mins every morning/evening to just take a soak before we start/end our day. Super comfortable stay! This has to be better than those $1k/night fuji n private onsen hotels.

Lobby or reception in Highland Resort Hotel & Spa

One of the few hotel around Lake Kawaguchiko with views of Mt Fuji and with a slightly more expensive rates if you include dinner. A modern hotel with excellent amenities and close to to Fuji-Q bus stop (50m) for the Shinjuku Expressway Bus. The Fuji-Q train station is a little further with about 20 minutes of walking. Breakfast was good with both international and Japanese options. Easy to get to Chureito Pagoda by train from Fuji-Q station. The hotel also provides a shuttle bus to the 3 main train stations at Mt Fuji. The public onsen (next o the hotel) for use free by guests is an excellent set-up and should not be missed. Visit Fuji-Q if time permits.
